My dear Fairelanders and friends,

Every year after the Fantasy Faire wraps up, my team and I feel closer and closer to the amazing worlds you create in Second Life through this wonderful and engaging event. The physical world we all share must deal with the cruel effects of cancer, but you are helping to change that!

It Has Only Just Begun

In the days that follow the closing of the Faire, I often find myself feeling like the classic “stranger in a strange land.”

I know that I am not alone in this feeling. Over those brief few weeks between the arrival of the Fairelands and their inevitable Fading, we come to see ourselves – quite tangibly – as citizens of those beautiful, magical worlds. In their absence, even the other virtual regions in which we live, work and play don’t quite resonate with us as they did before the Faire opened. And life in the physical world can seem utterly mundane by comparison.

“Oh dear,” I find myself thinking. “Day One of this reentry has been tough. And it has only just begun.”

Live Auction on Sunday, May 7th, Starting at NOON SLT!

The traditional Live Auction is one of the highlights of the Faire. This is when unique items, including some of the Faire builds, sometimes even whole Fairelands, are auctioned off to benefit Relay For Life.

This year we have heard hints of Sialdor’s magic shop, Opera’s arrival and conservatory, the newest Faire tour buses, Fungalmire’s Stump Theater, Frostweald’s Church of the Witches, Heart of the Mer central piece from Isles of Aquarius, Safe Haven’s Landing Point, Giggenwhirl Fountain, Tree of Life from WooHoo! Bay, Szystrum Synod Cosmotorium, one of a kind spirit wolf from Teegle, and much more. Come over to find out!

Fantasy Faire Open Through Monday, May 8th!

Today is Sunday, the last official event day, which means Live Auction! If you have fallen in love with this year’s Fairelands and want to bid on parts, pieces and mementos, now’s your chance. Now is the time. This is the Way!

Live Auction begins at NOON SLT and lasts until Her High Faireness Elizabeth Tinsley has gone through her list, and checked it thrice, and all the pieces of the Fairelands have found their way to new homes. Pack more than just coffee to go, this will take a while! If you wish to know how to bid, please read this info.

Is that a wrap, then? I hear you ask. I imagine you ask. Nope! We have still the whole Monday to explore, shop, finish quests, and simply hang out in our favourite spots of the year. Fantasy Faire is open to public through Monday, May 8th. As long as it’s Monday in Second Life Time, the portals remain open.
