Solas Enchantment, the creator and owner of BMe Bluemoon enterprise, is also the world builder of Hope’s Wish. The region was first dreamed to being as a collaboration between the Late Bee Dumpling and Solas, now built by Solas and Nya Alchemi. Solas shares the story of this vivid remembrance with a wish that the Faireland manages to bring hope to all that visit her.
You have built Fairelands before, which ones? Where do you get the ideas for them? Is it a long process of testing and replacing ideas, or a moment of inspiration?
I have co-built two Fairelands, Elemaria in 2020 and Tempest Bay in 2021, with the Late Bee Dumpling. These collaborative efforts have brought imaginative worlds to life, showcasing creativity and dedication. The ideas for Fairelands typically emerge after a period of rest and recharging creative energy following the conclusion of a Faire. This rejuvenation sparks inspiration, leading to the organic blooming of ideas that serve as the foundation for the new creations. The main trial and error focus lies in perfecting the creation of large mesh items within outside programs. These intricate elements require time and effort to ensure they shine brightly in the digital realm. Filling a vast virtual space like a Faireland can be challenging. Attention is crucial in avoiding oversized items that might disrupt the immersive experience. Once the size and placement of the significant mesh objects are resolved, the focus shifts to landscaping, which not only enhances the beauty of the environment but also provides inviting spaces for visitors to hang out and explore.
What are you bringing to the Faire this year?
This year, I’ve decided to offer some of the exclusive fun buildings and props that were created specifically for Hope’s Wish. These can be found at the BMe Sponsor store with all proceeds going to RFL.
What do you plan to do this Faire? What are your favorite things to do, the ones you wouldn’t miss out on no matter what?
All the activities going on at the Faire are amazing and as time permits, I try to take in as many as possible. One of my favorite things to do is The Fairelands Quest, it’s a delightful highlight of the Faire, allowing me to explore the breathtaking worlds and discover hidden, off-the-beaten-path areas. This immersive activity enriches my Faire experience, providing a sense of adventure and discovery.
The camaraderie with other builders is profoundly rewarding, as we all come together as a community of amazing and gifted individuals. The preparations for the Faire starts in February, bring about a palpable excitement and positive energy within the group chats, akin to a welcoming homecoming.
Tell us of your Faireland. What sparked its birth, what is its inspiration? Does it have lore, secrets, stories? Tell us everything!
The Birth of Hope’s Wish took place in 2022, with the intention of being co-built by Bee Dumpling and myself. Hope’s Wish was to encompass a profound emphasis on resilience, courage, and hope in the midst of adversity, especially for those fighting cancer or supporting a loved one through the same battle. The project is to remind them that they are not alone in confronting these challenges. Unfortunately, the initiative was put on hold due to Bee’s battle with cancer and subsequent passing. However, the determination to fulfill the original vision persisted, leading to the fortunate collaboration with Nya Alchemi to bring the project to fruition. Nya’s remarkable talent as a builder is evident in her ability to infuse whimsy, magic, and intricate detail into her creations. Her unique vision and skill set undoubtedly contribute to the enchanting and immersive experiences she brought to life at Hope’s Wish.
The Lore of Hope’s Wish is a written work by the late Bee Dumpling and can be found in the magical books located in each of the separate areas, including the whimsical Village of Strength, the daunting but beautiful cavern of Courage, and at the base of Hope the Wood Fairy on the bluff overlooking it all. Once on the Bluff, you can enjoy the world as one, with the Celtic knot river, the Looming Redwood forest, and the silly wiggle fun house of the village.
