Daily Recap: Friday, April 19th

Friday arrived as a surprise to the Fairelanders still living in the mindscape of Thursday, having forgotten to sleep in between. There was too much to see, explore, experience! Unfortunately time waits for no bun (only time lords), and when faced with the choice of Coffee or Nap? the Fairelanders always tend to opt on the side of caffeine.

Armed with thermos and wootberry juice, it was time to start tackling the Faire events! The calendar was full of parties, performances, roleplay, Literary and Film festivals, and of course the very first of our Jail & Bails!

This year the Long Paw of Law had changed their tactics and instead of trying to imprison the Lindens and Moles, they had convinced them to run away and join circus. This is a perfectly valid life choice and strategy that surely always works out. Who could possibly resist the chance to juggle more than server functions?

To accompany this performance there were bidding wars on name changes, premium Second Life subscriptions, the chance to choose a new upcoming surname and get it for free when it goes live, homestead and private island for limited times and family name change of custom name for 11 avatars. There were also mementos in RFL vendors like the exclusive boopie, and a freebie from Ancient Mole who brought in the Wootberry Fountain he promised a year ago!

In addition to raising easily over 1,1 million linden dollars, the Lindens also extended the official Faire days by two, so now Fantasy Faire is open through May 7th, giving you more time to enjoy the Fairelands before they return to the Mists. Thank you, Lindens!

The greatest surprise and prize came at the end of the circus. Linden Lab and Second Life gifted Fantasy Faire the ability to offer a name change to Fairelander, which will be available in vendors exclusively at the Faire, with 100% of the proceeds going to Fantasy Faire, and through Faire, to American Cancer Society.

This is without a doubt the greatest gift the Faire and Fairelanders could have received. To be a Fairelander not only in spirit, but in name too! Thank you, Linden Lab and Second Life, for always supporting Faire!

Disclaimer in Small Print: The vendors are not yet set, and there will be more information coming out soon. The name change is not instant, but needs manual labor and server hamster dedication. No hamsters were harmed during this project. Please send noms.

The first Faire Saturday is full of events: parties, performances, readings, roleplay, interviews, and two LitFest Tours (Wistlyn Shallows & Miralume). Pack snacks!
