Miro Collas, the creator of L’Uomo, returns to sponsor Fantasy Faire. He shares with us his love for the Faire, the favourites among his own work and his reasons to keep on sponsoring. You can read Miro’s previous interviews here: 2014 | 2013
This is not your first year sponsoring Fantasy Faire. What made you decide to return and do it again?
I very much support what FF is doing, for RFL. Cancer has touched my life several times, first my mother, then a very close fiend, and currently my father.
You create muscled mesh bodies for men. Is it possible to turn them non-human in skin-tone, something more fantasy-like? Drows, elementals, demons and such? Are there easy ways for a customer to do this, or does it require knowledge in working with the development kits?
There are fantasy skins available for the avatars, yes, from Fallen Gods, Hachka Taluna and Prodigal, to name just a few. The easiest way for customers to do something fantasy is clearly to just buy something that exists.😉 Otherwise, he would need the skills to create a skin of his own – but this is no different from needing a skin for a standard (non mesh) SL avatar. Having the skin textures, they can easily be applied via normal editing, as the avatars are all moddable.
Do you have favourites in your vast collection of work you have done here? Any specific creations that you are extremely fond and proud of? Or do you love them all equally?
To be honest, I enjoy the L’Uomo avatars a great deal. I’ve been wearing one since the first one I made, a few years back.😉 And that’s a first for me, as I tend to not wear items I have created for resale.
What is your favourite Faire-memory? What are you looking forward to most this year in the Faire?
There is no one specific thing I could point to. There have been many memorable moments. Jail and Bail is always fun, doing silly things with other creators, seeing amazing builds and products. I look forward to FF each year, and while it is running, I go daily, to explore and enjoy the amazing display of creativity.🙂
Thank you, Miro, for taking the time to talk with us. Thank you for joining us again in the Fairelands!
