Horseshoe shaped island which rises from the ocean like a hill. Covered by bright houses and a castle at the summit with the look of a naive painting with primary colors. In the proximity of the castle is a well which is also the entry to the world below the sea, a realm of fantasy creatures.
In the far corner of the sim is the performance stage made out of rafts, nearly flush with the ocean. The audience seats are on sheets of paper that appear to be floating between the stage and the cave entrance at the base of the hill island. The hillside not facing the stage will have a harbor with the fantasy art galleries. Continue reading LitFest Tour Day 5: A Special Tour to the Story Well→
Sunday brought sun with it, just as the word promises. Sun and the Fairelands Quest! There are stampedes, and rampages, and even zergs, and then there are all the Fairelanders rushing to aid the Bard Queen! Join the adventure by purchasing a Hunt HUD from any of the landing points, for example here in Fairelands Junction.
The day’s highlight was surely the two hours of Literary Festival dedicated to the Kenyatta National Hospital and the Hope Hostel that American Cancer Society is building there. All the money from this year’s Fantasy Faire goes toward this project, so it was only fitting to spend some time giving people more information, and a chance to have their questions answered.
Over the course of the Faire, Fairelanders are joining tours of individual lands and telling stories about them. These we will be preserving on this website – and some will be made into special tales to be recorded for Fantasy Faire radio. We’re also going to share some of these stories here, and here are stories from the second tour, to the Willows of Nienna.
Of course we all love the amazing builds and the fabulous talent, quests and events happening at the Faire, but we cannot have a successful celebration without our accomplished designers who have set up shops in the various regions. Each creator has filled their pop-up store with wares for the fantasy lover in all of us, which has filled Flickr with some amazing images this week.
Each designer’s store has at least 2 official Fantasy Faire vendors with newly created items. The proceeds of these sales go directly to the total being raised for Relay for Life. So, hit these vendor boards hard. To make things easy for you, we have created a shopping catalog that showcases over 750 of these exclusive items on Pinterest! And, if you’d like to shop by your favorite creator, here is a list of their locations on the various sims.
The Magpies gathered together to tell stories of the Faire, and especially of their Bazaar Dungeon home. The Magpies told lighthearted tales of the Great Escape, and why one must not eat the mushrooms, but it was the Guardian of the Earth Stone that shared the tragic tales that warned of the Bard King’s greed and the Unweaver’s evil.
Fortunately, Dogstar was there to pull from his own Worde Horde and he told the children of the Mouse and the Knight. Long ago, a boy was transformed in a way that he could defeat a terrible Knight. The boy was unable to claim the treasures the Knight had stolen, but he left a mark that many do not believe is real.
The Magpies, spurred by the stories now seek the treasure room to discover what riches lie within. Join them Sunday 1 to 3 pm slt to join their search!
The Faire is brimming with stories: breathtaking builds and fantastical creations designed to touch your heart and soul. What stories do they inspire in you? We invite you to put your Fantasy Faire experience into words.
Sanoria (Chic Aeon)
Soft sands and warm breezes speak of a age long ago when ancients, no longer tethered to time and place, departed Sanoria in search of others of their kind. Ruins, seemingly deserted, still hold echoes of their essence and when the Southern winds call pilgrims come. They know not why — only that there is magic in the land that calls to them and they cannot resist.Continue reading LitFest Tour Day 4: Sanoria→
