Literary Festival Schedule for Friday April 30th

Today our special guest authors, Sharon Lee and Steve Miller, will return to give a special reading from their latest novel set in the Liaden Universe – Trader’s Leap.

Friday also offers a series of prompts and stories at the Literary Festival, with two steampunk episodes of Designing Worlds, set in New Babbage at the Film Festival.

No Tour today, so the Company of Faire Folk can rest – and visit Alia Baroque’s Bail and Jail!

Milkwood Dash in Wandering Woods
6:00am – 6:30am

The beautiful setting in the Wandering Woods created by Kilik Lekvoda would be reason enough to join us for this event. But it’s also a chance for you to spend 15 minutes writing your own prose or poetry based on a writer’s prompt, and then share what you have created with your fellow authors

Please note – around 6am, the Fairelands will restart. If that happens, we will go home for ten minutes and then head back!

Join us at Wandering Woods for the event.

Fantasy Faire Film Festival: What could possibly go wrong in New Babbage?
11:00am – 12:00noon
This year we are trying a new experiment at Fantasy Faire – a short film festival, grounded in Second Life and virtual fantasy films of different kinds.

Designing Worlds is a regular web TV show based on exploring the work of design and designers in virtual worlds (with a focus on designs and events in Second Life). But every time the show visits New Babbage, something … happens.

What could possibly go wrong in New Babbage?

Designing Worlds – and you – will find out!

This show will consist of two episodes of the show:
What could Possibly Go Wrong at Piedmont Landing?
and
Murder in the Muirsheen Durkin

Join us in the Dragon Dreams Theatre Cave on Líng xiāo lóng 灵霄龙.

Special Guests: Reading by Sharon Lee and Steve Miller
1:00pm – 2:00pm
This year, we are delighted to welcome to the Literary Festival two popular and highly-regarded writers, who are also long-term residents of Second Life!

Sharon Lee and Steve Miller are perhaps best known for their Liaden Universe® works, and they are recognised as pioneers in the sub-genre of science fiction romance – stories that contain all the action, adventure and sense of wonder of traditional space opera, with the addition of romantic relationships.

Today they will be reading extracts from their latest novel, Trader’s Leap

There will be gifts for attendees.

Join us in the Dragon Dreams Theatre Cave on Líng xiāo lóng 灵霄龙.
