1.30 – 3.00 PM SLT: Much Ado About Nothing – Faireland Players
LOCATION: OPAL FLIGHT
This year the Faireland Players will be presenting a spectacular performance of Shakespeare’s comedy, Much Ado About Nothing, featuring his wittiest hero and heroine, Benedick and Beatrice, whose sparring takes place in a world where young love struggles against nefarious plots, the work of dastardly villains and rogues. But fortunately, in the Fairelands, the strong Paw of the Law is there to save the day! Yes, it’s Shakespeare, with a fantasy twist.

3:00 – 4:00 PM SLT: Boudicca reads … Leaf by Niggle written by John Ronald Reuel Tolkien, read by Boudicca Amat
In 1939 Tolkien was despairing of ever bringing his great work The Lord of the Rings to a conclusion. One morning he woke up with the story ‘Leaf by Niggle’ complete in his mind and wrote it down.
This poignant story, about an artist on a curious journey, is often seen as an allegory of the writer’s own creative process and life.
Boudicaa says: “I’ve been a resident of Second Life for ten years, and I began reading on Voice just over two years ago. During this time I’ve been invited to read at previous LitFests, and for events run by the Seanchai Library.
“I run a twice weekly Event – Tuesday and Thursday 3 pm till 4 pm SLT – at my home, and I’m currently reading ‘The Chronicles of Narnia’  by CS Lewis. (check my Profile for details)
“As I am a Brit I prefer to read books by UK authors – I think it’s better to limit myself to mangling my own Mother tongue rather than risk disgracing myself trying to mimic others!”

7:00 – 8:00 PM SLT: Taters and Tots: From Kid’s Books to Cook Books – Ceejay Writer
Join the discussion as a rambling author attempts to sort through her wandering path of publishing. After writing The Flight To Brassbright, author Lori Alden Holuta found she had somehow created quite a few fictional children who clamored to tell their stories. And as kids often are, this crowd of urchins is always hungry! After feeding them often during the telling of their tales, she decided to gather up all the favored foods in her books and created Steamed and Steamy: Recipes from the Steampunk World of Industralia. Bring your appetite for tasty literature!

“Gaiman stays true to the myths while vividly reincarnating Odin, the highest of the high, wise, daring, and cunning; Thor, Odin’s son, incredibly strong yet not the wisest of gods; and Loki, the son of giants, a trickster and unsurpassable manipulator. From Gaiman’s deft and witty prose emerges the gods with their fiercely competitive natures, their susceptibility to being duped and to dupe others, and their tendency to let passion ignite their actions, making these long-ago myths breathe pungent life again.” Caledonia Skytower shares selections from NORSE MYTHOLOGY by Neil Gaiman, featuring “The Mead of the Poets”, live in voice.

This will take place on Kakushi Pasu
Rosehaven is one of the oldest fantasy-themed estates you might not have heard of – this is because for ten years, they were known to us as Winterfell. The recent renaming of the estate has sparked renewed interest in characters and storytelling in the community, expressed through a collaborative writing project, the ‘Rosehaven Chronicles’, on their shared blog. Rowan Derryth will talk with estate creator and Princess of the Realm, Selena Anansi, about roleplay in Rosehaven and, alongside other fellow Rosehavians, share the special qualities that have made Winterfell-now-Rosehaven endure.
