In 2017 Fantasy Faire Radio took a big step forward: announcing that the station would be broadcasting year round and not just during the Faire. This month “FFR” takes another step forward with the introduction of scheduled special programs outside the Faire season. This is yet another way for the station to help Fairelanders stay engaged and connected 12 months a year.
June features special events centering on the Summer Solstice (June 21st) and William Shakespeare’s play A Midsummer Night’s Dream. The action of the Bard’s playful adventure into romance, love, and relationships all takes place in a single fantastical night. Most of the action occurs in a woodland outside the ancient city of Athens where fairies skip, and moonlit frolics are fraught with both misunderstanding and misdirection.
FFR will be presenting two opportunities to enjoy selections and adaptations of the play:
A Midsummer Night’s Dream – Live on LEA 2
Sunday, June 16th, 1pm slt
Selections from the play will be presented live from the current A Midsummer Night’s Dream Project in Second Life, followed by an interview with project creator, Aoife Lorefield. The program will be hosted by Elrik Merlin with Caledonia Skytower. The performances will be organized by Kayden Oconnell and will include Mr. Oconnell, Da5id Abbot, Fayleen Belois, Aoife Lorefield, Ian Quintessa, and Ms. Skytower.
