Noke Yuitza, the creator and owner of E.V.E, is sponsoring Fantasy Faire’s Arts & Entertainment. He shares with us his reasons to Relay, speaks of the sources of his inspiration and shows an amazing variety of sparkling creations of magic that he’s bringing to the Faire.
Last year you sponsored the Fairelands Quest, and this year you’re returning to support the Faire in even bigger way. What made you decide to become a sponsor?
My grandma, that raised me, passed away 3 years ago due lung cancer. She wasn’t a smoker, but she lived many years with smokers in an air polluted city. I want to contribute putting my little bit of sand to help researchers, health care professionals and patients, specially those that need it the most due their socio-economic situation.
How did you begin building in Second Life? What inspires you to create?
I begin to do it for a non-profit project related to my university, and for some subjects I had in college that allowed me to use SL to present final class works. I come from rl arts background and started creating since very little… for me is just an extension of who I am. just doing the same here 🙂
I get inspired even in how sand particles reflects, or how leaves move with the wind, mixed with what I feel… Inspires me Da Vinci and the Renaissance, Gaudi and Art Nouveau, Hokusai’s Great Wave, Mariko Mori ‘s Oneness… among cyberpunk films like the anime Ghost in the Shell and Blade Runner as well as games like Bioshock, Deus Ex and Dreamfall Chapters.
But I get my main inspiration from dreams, where all before and more is mixed and processed later into art. One of my main characters is The Dreamer. You can find it in many of my statues, or even in my poster logo 🙂 inside E.V.E store at FF2019 you can see a little installation about this dreamer.
What are you bringing to the Faire this year? Give us some sneak peeks or teasers!
A lot of yummy gachas, like The Force, and vendors with new and last releases, updates, a 25% Off in some featured vendors (yeah.. the bodyglitters fatpacks… I wanna cover you all in sparkling glittering fairy dust 😉 ), and a little art installation inside the store…
Also, Fantasy Faire asked me if I was able to make a special item for the performers in the Cancer Ribbon color… And I did The VENUS IN ME (apparel, Females+Males) Lavender Pack, with the RGB Hex color of the All Cancers Ribbon. But don’t worry if you are not one of the FF performers… you will be able to find also as one of the 100% donation vendors at the Fairelands.
Come and grab it!
What calls you to fantasy? When was the first time you encountered the genre and realized you enjoyed it?
So little I cannot even remember, lol. At pre-school my teachers were already telling my mom about my fantasy drawings XD.
Do you have a favourite Faire memory?
Yeah, 2 years ago, when a bunny (Sharni the Alice’s White Bunny ;)) was helping this stressed and super lagged creator to set and have fun after we both were going through some rl hard moments.
Thank you, Noke, for taking the time to chat with us. Thank you for bringing your imagination and creativity to the Faire, thank you for making magic for Fairelanders!
