Meet Our Sponsors: Elven Forest

Bella and Dark Moon, the co-owners of Elven Forest.

Bella (Belladaine Nightfire) and Dark Moon (Wakent Resident) are co-owners of Elven Forest, a fantasy community sim that welcomes all the roleplayers to come and relax without worrying about getting out of character. They share their reasons to sponsor the Faire, speak of their community and reveal their favourite things to do at the Faire.

This is your first year sponsoring Fantasy Faire. What made you decide to become a sponsor?

Bella: I had known about Relay For Life for many years and their fund raising events in RL, but it was exciting to find that even in the SL community we had found a way to help. I became one of the owners of the Elven Forest and was introduced to FF by a few of the forest fairies. It was amazing. Finding out that the Faire was the biggest event that fantasy community looks forward to every year and finding out that it was connected to Relay For Life, made me want to be part of it. Chuckles, I think since the first moment I saw it, I started to pester the other owner of the Forest, that we needed to be part of it. It has been said many times, cancer has touched everyone in one form or another, and even the Elves are not safe, for we lost one of our own, a guard from the past, Stephanie Abernathy. We are so happy that we took the step to help.

Dark:  Chuckles and agrees with Bella. She didn’t have to pester me very hard. She had me convinced last year but our timing was off. I’m a member of a group called Elfwish and have performed in RFL events before but this time, it’s in the name of our sim. I also lost my brother to cancer in January of 2017, so it is extra special this year.

Tell us about Elven Forest. Is it a roleplay-realm, or out-of-character forest or something in between?

The Elven Forest is a Second Life Community Sim. It was designed to bring out the magic and wonder of a mystical world where all form of fantasy creatures would have a place where they can enjoy and relax in peace. No matter what brings someone here, they will find a wonderful land filled with hidden places, breathtaking landscaping and the friendliest people you will ever meet. As you wander through the forest, keep your eyes open. You never know what you are going to see, from fairies dancing around a giant mushroom, a mermaid swimming just off the beaches or dragons flying above the trees. You will be transported into a world that you never expected, and each time you return you will find a new adventure. Everyone is welcome in Elven Forest.

Dark: We are active participants and the sim is open to all people. An adult sim that isn’t a sex sim. That lets people chat and relax

Bella: The sense of community, the friendliness of the members. It is a Place where fantasy roleplayers can come and relax without worrying about changing out of character.

What calls you to fantasy? When was the first time you encountered the genre and realized you enjoyed it?

Bella: I have always had a fascination for dragons, I am even a fantasy fiction author. Best part of SL is that you can live out your fantasies and even bring stories to life.

Dark: I was a fan of a mix of SciFi and Fantasy. I became a dragon fan when I found the early Dragon Riders of Pern series. Instead of riding a dragon in SL, I am one.

Do you have a favorite Faire memory? What are you looking forward to most this year?

Bella: I am looking forward to the performers. I love the dancing and of course the shopping, a fairy’s favorite past time. (shifts eyes), I haven’t been hoarding lindens all year for a spending spree. hehe

Dark: I really like the shows but I also like to walk around the Faire.

Thank you, Bella and Dark, for taking the time to chat with us. Thank you for bringing a touch of your Elven Forest into the Fairelands!
