Daily Recap: Wednesday

Wednesday brought us Tolkien Day celebrations throughout the day! There was no better place for these events than The Hill by Kilik Lekvoda, which in itself is a remarkable homage to The Shire.

The Literary Festival moved almost completely to The Hill for the day, and started off with Tolkien-related fantasy writing prompts, followed by a live reading of both An Unexpected Party from The Hobbit and A Long-Expected Party from The Fellowship of the Ring, read by Caledonia Skytower and Dubhna Rhiadra.

The reading was a huge success, drawing together over 70 fantasy enthusiasts to simply listen and delight in the words of Tolkien.

After the reading it was time for An Unexpected Party, and for all the elves, dwarves and hobbits to dance! DJ Vasa Vella played party music and because this is the Fairelands, dragons, unicorns and even Sauron himself joined in! If you haven’t seen the Dark Lord of Mordor twerking, you haven’t partied properly!

In the evening Seanchai Library read selections from Tolkien’s work live in voice with the theme of A Walk through Middle Earth, and almost as to mimic this, we also had several LitFest Tours through The Hill to enjoy its peaceful beauty.

Otherwise the day went wonderfully with roleplay, dance performances and DJ parties on the deck of the FaireChylde. We also had a very successful LitFest gathering in Kakushi Pasu for Stories from Rosehaven, previously known as Winterfell.

Thursday has arrived surprisingly fast, it’s time to get busy exploring and questing if you haven’t yet!

In Opal Flight we’ll have two dance performances: The Monarchs 5 – 6 PM and Misfit Dance & Performance Art 7 – 8 PM.

In The Literary Festival we’ll have Fantasy Writing Prompts 10 – 11 AM, Wolfie’s Poetry Surf 1 – 2 PM and  Monsters & Myths with Seanchai Library 7 – 8 PM. The Literary Festival takes place in Kakushi Pasu.
