Daily Recap: Friday

Friday arrived with the return of gremlins — I swear we’re declaring a hunting season on them! I’m speaking of the usual gremlinesque side effects of course: lag, teleport problems, region crossing issues, our beloved Second Life at its usual best.

Fortunately our Officers of the Paw are always sniffing out the troublemakers and knew exactly where to place the blame: straight on the shoulders of the Overlords Known as Lindens! Before you could say ‘region’ (but not before you could traitorously whisper ‘sim’) the cage dropped over Perilous Patch Linden and Dread Derrick Linden!

The declarations of innocence swiftly changed into blatant bribery: the Lindens know what works, after all. There were Linden Bears galore, promises of dress wearing (Derrick wore it better) and visits to never-released Linden experience regions, extra prims for private islands for a month, and even a free Homestead region for a month for a L30,000 bail into the RFL kiosk!

After Patch and Derrick bribed their ways into dress-wearing freedom, the cage dropped down again: this time on Killer-Keira and Debug-Dee Linden! This is where things got really interesting for Dee brought the big guns. Bribe Guns of Epic Proportions.

[15:04] Dee Linden: how about additional Faire Days?

Needless to say that Faire Folk went into bailing frenzy. The demanded price was L10,000 per Faireland per day, so L150,000 for one extra day of Fantasy Faire for the whole of Fairelands.

The end treasury sum was L240,000 raised for Relay For Life. Well done, Faire Folk! Not only have you assaulted Unweaver’s cancerous designs, you have saved our precious Fairelands for an additional day!

Friday also saw the beginning of our astonishing dance and particle performances in Opal Flight. Four shows of Second Life’s best sparkle and motion storytelling groups started off our impressive entertainment schedule: The Night Theater, Lady Garden Cabaret, The Monarchs and Misfit Dance and Performance Art.

In the Literary Festival we had a much-awaited live reading by Caledonia Skytower, Fantasy Writing Prompts and a Short Story Discussion Group. We also had a spectacular opportunity to hear from a true veteran of her field: Jan Scott-Frazier, who was interviewed about Anime and Fantasy. The LitFest Region Tours traveled to Mudrana and Raven’s Perch.

The roleplay groups of Steelwood, The Lilypods, Sanctuary, The NeoVictoria Project and Ynys Seamaide adventured further in their storylines. For more roleplay updates, read their information!

The day ended fittingly with parties on The FaireChylde with DJs Bard and Hazard.
